Learning how to make games

Right now I'm happy to announce that I'm learning how to make simple games right now. In a while we might actually have a game for HW made by me but don't get your hopes up just yet. There are a couple things I need to explain.

1) I'm not anywhere near making a multiplayer game yet.
2) I'm still doing tutorials. I just started today
3) Haven't figured out how to upload it as a flash file or swf or anything yet. Hopefully I'll learn by the end of tonight.
4) I cannot test my games unless I'm out of safe mode.

So I just want to let you all know it's a possibility. This is a legit thing and not a lie and the great part is with the amazing program I'm using(creds to LolICU for showing me) I can provide screenshots of an actual game if I decide to make one! So no smoke and mirrors like most sites have.

There was a tutorial actually on the game. It appears right next to the window that I have opened for the game and I just go through the entire thing. If you want to see a preview of my first game here it is:

Nice game haha, you work fast. This was the first game I made with Gamemaker as well, the tutorial is really straightforward. I actually find it easier when opening one of their *example* game folders (racing or dungeons) and then just editing it. Making a game from scratch nearly made me smash my laptop. (Patience level = -99) >.>

Well right now I'm making a new one in a kinda "beta" look where you have a character like one from pawn and you can move it around and jump. But I haven't started the makings yet, I'm just now creating the sprites.

Cool stuff. Might try it out...someday. My only prob with this is that it will test your patience, and I'm not exactly what you call "tolerant" when it comes to software. Plus I'm low on disk space. *sigh*

In related news, I met a few guys online who could code decent stuff from Flash. They have a few builds that're alright, but yeah...they're still in beta.

dang this is a nice program. Hopefully we can get a game.
