I've seen the groups that are in this forum. I think it was like Adminstrators,Moderators,HW support...and so on. You have to have at least 50 posts to join a group. But what do you get from joining a group? Seriously I am confused :/

You get moderator powers over a certain catagory. You can apply for all of them except mod and admin.
