ZuneHD

Well I have a ZuneHD and I want to tell everyone that it is a very good Mp5/4 it has good features and CAN be comparable to a iPod Touch.

First off, ZuneHD was made by MicroSoft. It now not an ongoing project it was made around September of 2009. The only things being updated on it are the software, apps, and channels/podcasts, not made by the company. You can find more info on ZuneHD here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zune_HD

ZuneHD has a few features that I know of. I didn't have a old Zune but I can tell you it is very different.

-It is able to play at a 720 Resolution

Radio
-Only FM

Internet(Explorer)
-It does NOT play videos
-You can see sites in PC form

Applications
-This is an ongoing thing, it is always being updated. You will usually find at least 1 new app every 2 weeks or so
-Games are included in this section

16 Gigabytes

Marketplace on Zune(Buy and send music to your friends)
-You can download music from your ZuneHD
-You can download apps from your ZuneHD

This is a good product now here is my opinion on the Features

Radio

It is a simple radio, you scroll through the stations and you can bookmark them. You can also see some of the songs playing on certain stations.



Internet

It is decent, I would say faster than IE in PC. Simple, you can scroll through sites. It also doesn't take forever. You cannot see YouTube videos though.


HD Video

It depends on what screen you use, so It CAN be HD just that you you need the right videos. I don't have a any videos that are that resolution because I can't find any good videos.


Apps

Not too many but enough to keep you satisfied. In my opinion since the apps are free the games are just as good in iPod it is good enough. Also, it is always being updated every 2 weeks or so as I said before.


Additions to the ZuneHD

Ok, then lastly we have the extras to your ZuneHD.
Here is one of the bigger things.
Ok if you buy your ZuneHD online on the Zune Store you can specialize it. Example, you can choose from 7 Different colors. Now when you choose colors you get a certain amount of choices depending on what you buy.

Now after that you can choose from 30 different designs(Artistic), 20(MBL Series), and 20(XBOX series)which are kind of like tattoos, with that comes a background. With that you get a free AC Adapter.

Overall the iPod Touch is just as good. The only difference is the price! There isn't anything wrong in getting a different thing than everyone else. The thing also, is the user. It depends on the user, if you want to be buying apps and multitasking and all sorts of stuff go for a iPod Touch. If you want high quality music and your videos nice WITH free apps, ZuneHD is for you.

Nice review! I considered picking one up a while ago, but decided to go for the iTouch. I got it for the features and apps, but to my surprise most of the apps are worthless/shovelware.

Zune HD would be a pretty good buy since I'm in need of an epic PMP that emphasizes the user and his content.

Yes it's cheaper by about thirty bucks. But you'll have to pay for songs using the unlimited Zune Pass subscription service. You get all the songs you want, plus ten songs you get to keep for free every month for $15 a month.

For anyone, that'll put the real-world costs of songs higher than the iPod's.

Do you get to use the songs you have on itunes already?

You can find the files and put them in.
But I am not sure about that.

160-180 dollars

I think Apple and their oh-too-clever specialists restrict using their music on other devices. The only way you could possibly do is convert iTunes-->Zune, which may also be illegal due to pirate laws...

My advice: ask Apple (I'd lul if you did), use Amazon, or be a pirate...
