| So, what do you think will happen to Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony 10, 20, or 30 years in the future?
Microsoft: They drop out of the gaming race altogether, in an act no one has seen since the Sega Era. Xbox prices plunge, as do the games. Xbox Live is still available, however, and Microsoft will continue providing updates, although they will be extremely minor.
Nintendo: EDIT-Paragraph deleted due to the possibility of very heated debates...
Sony: Originality. 'nuff said.

| I think that your microsoft prediction is correct, because i mean they're BARELY producing anything thats gaming related. As for the xbox, every single product ever produced that has a price, drops, right? | |

| They drop out of everything except: software for things they made in the past and Microsoft Computers of course. Nintendo will live on unless a dramatic change in this would happens that revolutionizes it. And sony will make some PS5000 TV/Internet/Gaming/Phone/ect. | |

Exactly, but what I'm saying is that, for instance, you can get an NES for dirt cheap (you can rent it for mere pennies), amirite? Same with the Xbox.

| Not me. Anywho, I totally forgot about the 360's megabase. [megabase n. --a very large fanbase, The Neverwinter Dictionary]
I think that though Microsoft will not go down first, they may be the first to die if they keep things the way they are.

| I doubt microsoft will go down first. just look at all the popular games out there that people buy for the xbox- Call of Duty, Halo, Fallout, etc.
Sony, i think they'll stay for a while.
Nintendo will keep it up too. I think these three companies will stay for a while.
Who knows, a new video game company might come out and break records 10 years from now, and maybe it will run every other video game company out of buiseness. Or maybe sony and microsoft will join forces.
Or maybe they will all just say screw it, you people are way to fat and lazy, get off your butts and do something productive for once you fatasses.
You can't predict the future.

| Okay, first of all, Microsoft stock--yeah, I thought you guys really don't care for this stuff--is pretty darn low. Check it if you have the time, but last I checked, it was somewhere around 20 bucks. Also, Call of Duty, as Gr33n mentioned a long time ago, is redundant, Halo is officially dead, and I don't, nor anyone I know, has ever cared enough to watch a video about Fallout.
Second, Sony just needs Kevin Butler to survive, and a voice of their own. That's pretty much it.
Third, that's inevitable, but I know Nintendo won't monopolize the gaming industry!
Fourth, Sony + Microsoft = Together Forever?! Uh...no. Sony couldn't handle keeping a console brand on their own. A comeback will be cool, but I doubt that'll happen any time soon...
Fifth, video gaming will live on for possibly another eight centuries. It's a quadrillion-dollar industry (yes, that number exists), and as long as there's an idea, there's probably a game to go with it. But, you're right, people need physical activity, too. I'm just saying that gaming is an epic way to pass the time, and stay up to 4 AM just "to earn a trophy that isn't real...but IS."

| Like i said, you can't predict the future.
First: Call of Duty is still somehow successful (im just saying somehow because i hate COD.), Halo is actually still alive, in Halo 3 has more than 1 million players online these days, and according to a friend (who plays xbox 24/7), Halo: Reach had over 4 million players on it. And Fallout is actually pretty famous, believe it or not. To some reviewers, its the best RPG game of all time. To others, it's the best RPG on the xbox. But The Elder Scrolls probably comes out on top of Fallout.
Second: Ehh.. Yes.
Third: Nintendo might actually make a comeback. Im not a huge fan, but it's possible.
Fourth: I've heard rumors about PS3 live, the Play Station Network, or Play Station online or whatever the hell they call it would have joined forces with xbox live. To me, thats bullcrap, xbox live isnt free, but ps3 is. But thats an old rumor, and luckily, it didnt happen. But in the future they might be about to be put out of buiseness by other rising companies, and they might just join forces to live on. But that would happen years and years from now, and it might not even happen.
Fifth: In case you didn't know, I added a tiny bit of sarcasm. The video game industry will live on, and will get revolutionary, and will eventually create a extremely amazing virtual reality console or helmet or whatever they will come up with, and it will be so amazing that children's lives will be corrupted.

| Like I said, you can think about what'll happen in the future, even though it may not be true.
Oh, when I said Halo is officially dead, I was talking about Bungie's official farewell to Halo. Whether or not that means there is no more Halo is debatable, but if they choose to make sequels, they'll suck.
Virtual reality is really dumb, and'll take years for the tech to develop. You literally get sucked into the game, and it seems like people actually are serious about living in that type of gaming. What happens when you get stuck???
Joining forces? Like Square and Enix joining forces (aka, a merger?) That never happened before, but it might...who knows?

| By joining forces, i mean merging, yeah. And i honestly think virtual reality will be amazing, but yeah, what if you do get stuck..? But then again.. What if you just see people out on the streets swinging a stick around, but in the game its actually a sword? That would be neat, but it would be weird seeing them do that. Plus, its dangerous.
Ehh.. Im having second thoughts about this.

| Anyway, off topic-ness:
In about one hour, Nintendo unveils the final design, pricing, and release date of the Nintendo 3DS. So excited, and very happy. Now that I think of it, it's nerds like me who stay up at 12 AM to watch some conference going on halfway across the world. Weird.
By the way, it's in 1 AM EST and at 10 PM Pacific.
So, my predictions:
Pricing: Same as IGN'S, 20,000 Yen, or roughly a nice and uneven 236 bucks. This keeps it well within my $200-$250 price range. Nintendo won't make their product drastically higher than the Wii's, I know it.
Release Date: Early-to-mid November. The closer to Christmas, the better, but they shouldn't make it too close or else no one has time to test it out and love/hate it.
Design: Pretty much the same, with a few changes in the camera and D-Pad areas.

| Man, I was really hoping for a November release. That would've been awesome, but now it gives me 5-6 months to rack up some cash. We'll probably see the 3DS around the same time Europe gets it (March 2011, *sigh*)
Also, I did a Yen-to-USD conversion, and yes $300 is accurate, but no one is willing to spend that much for some DS system that doesn't even do as much as a 360 or PS3. Don't forget that the DSi XL sold in Japan for 20,000 Yen, but was sold here for somewhere around $180. Expect it to be below $270.
