[iPod/iPhone] How to jailbreak on 4.2.1

I know a lot of people upgraded to 4.2.1, and then decided they wanted to jailbreak. Until now, that was impossible, except for a limited tether jailbreak. Now, The Chronic Dev team has released Greenpois0n RC5, a powerful jailbreaker that allows iOS 4.2.1 devices to be jailbroken.


1. An iPod touch 2G, 3G, or iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS, 4G or iPad. (Duh)
2. iTunes 10.1 or higher Download
3. Greenpois0n RC5 Download
4. A 4.2.1 IPSW file.
[iPhone 4]
[iPhone 3GS]
[iPhone 3G]
[iPad]
[iPod touch 2G]
[iPod touch 3G]
[iPod touch 4G]

Step 1: Update your iDevice to 4.2.1.
Simple enough, right?

Step 2: Restore the device.
AUGHHHHH!!!! MEH DATA!!!!! So make sure you back it ALL up.

Step 3: Start Greenpois0n.

Step 4: Identify the iOS using the one you downloaded up there.^^

Step 5: Follow the instructions.

Step 6: Install cydia.
Got to loader (green icon) and select cydia.

As long as you have it backed up on iTunes, then yes.

On installous or whatever, how do I get the games where I can play them.

You enter installous, find the game you want, press install, select a download link, download it, play it.

Some of the links are broken, so if it doesn't work, then try a different link.

I'll try it.

I could of used this guide a few days ago. Oh well I figured it out.
