| Time to get something off my chest: I don't like it...no...I hate it when the media puts all the blame for domestic problems, such as terrorism, on violent video games. Here's a class-A example of what I'm talking about... Note how the first thing that pops up is an artist representation, not a simple screenshot. These guys are the biggest idiots on the planet. Now the people have spoken [via GameInformer and Fox News]. Hear what they have to say: - Spoiler:

i still get carded at the gamestore when buying m rated games, and i look older than 25. but never have i once been carded when buying an r rated film or violent tv show. and i rarely get carded at the theater when seeing r rated movies. so why dont we have the rest of the media catch up to the standards that the game industry has set up before we go bashing violent games.--Brandon

I will be seventeen in two months...I play almost exclusively M-rated games, but trying to buy them is a hassle.I have a job and make the money with which to buy them, so why should I not be able to? One time I tried to buy the same game (Mass Effect 2) and was told that not only could I not buy it, but that if the clerk did sell it to me, He would be fined for upwards of $2000 (more than if he sold me illegal drugs, an R-rated movie, or even a gun). Probably, the worst thing is that people like Fox, CNN, doctors, and the California Supreme Court are echoing the message that violent video games are the true, pure cause of terrorism, rape, and homicide. Here's what a guy joking about Fox's editorial basically said: "Guys, this a serious problem. I went to bed after playing God of War III. Next thing I know, I raped and killed three people. | Lol I get into R rated movies, can buy whatever M game I choose and even a porno film if I wanted to. Nobody has ever stopped me or asked me for ID or something similar. 'Course that doesn't mean I can just go to the convenience store and pick up a twelve-pack of bud-light and a bag of marijuana.

Then again, you are in Canada... In the US, especially where I live, anyone under 17 can't just walk in, ask for Red Dead Redemption, pay, and leave, unless you're at a pawn shop. You gotta have ID or a trusted adult. I hear in California, like that guy I posted about, if he got an M rated game and was under 17, the guy who sold it to him could be fined $2K minimum. | Dang bro, that must suck for you guys, lol The only thing that I can't buy right now is whatever i can't afford, drugs, and 'most' alchohol  E, T, M or whatever ratings don't really matter to stores where I live, a ten year old can walk in and buy God of war III if he had the cash. Not sure about AO ratings, but there isn't many games with that so no issue there. | |

| Fox news, geez those guys always are getting trolled or doing something stupid that has to do with the internet. To be honest I will never watch their news. Other day they had something on trolling. While back they we interviewing a irl troll and they cut him while he was talking.
